FIFTH DEMO
NOTE: The songs collected in the fifth demo deal with different aspects related to the conflict against the animal experimentation laboratory Vivotecnia (Tres Cantos, Madrid). In April 2021, images obtained undercover by activist Carlota Saorsa were made public, showing what they do to the animals within these walls. For many people it was a big shock: we know that animal experimentation is atrocious, but having access to such close-up footage was something totally new. Obviously those of us who play in Accord have not been oblivious to all this.
We wanted to use the band to reflect and, if possible, amplify the struggle against this hell. At the same time, we avoided direct references because we wanted to make songs that could also accompany people involved in other struggles, and we believe there can be common elements. We didn’t want to devote ourselves to trying to reflect the horror of the laboratories, as Carlota Saorsa has already done that in an unsurpassable way. We preferred instead to emphasise the actions and emotions related to resistance, to liberation.
We hope they say something to you.
OUR EYES
Another sleepless night,
another day without eating,
the stomach closed
for what you should have seen
with an intention.
Reveal what until today
remained hidden
and let discomfort
become action.
Wanting to make an impact
you became
our eyes.
*This song is dedicated to the people who decide to risk a lot of what they have by sneaking into horrible places to show what goes on in there.
CLOSE THAT HELL
Your eyes burn,
your chest pumps,
rage overflows,
floods your veins.
Close that hell.
Your mind erupts
with a thousand thoughts.
With disturbing force
a desire emerges.
Close that hell.
*This song tries to reflect an abrasive, hard and difficult feeling that, at the same time, can be very useful for us.
IF WE WANT IT ALL
If we want it all
we have to start with something,
otherwise we will always be
wandering around in a fog.
*We think this song is self-explanatory.
FOURTH DEMO
LEAK
Strokes
furrow
straight and curved
on that paper.
Voices
cross
as a shooting star would:
burst
ephemeral
shining.
*The importance of reaching out to people behind bars, through an act as simple as writing a letter that transmits encouragement, can connect the person with the outside and generate relief in hell. We encourage you to participate in prisoner letter writing spaces. They are held in many places and provide tools if you don’t know how to start.
BEYOND WORDS
To bet on what is right,
to move away from inertia
and to believe in myself.
Not to lose my perspective
of what is just and what is unjust,
which has nothing to do with what the law says
or with what it does.
And to surround myself
always with those who
feels good to me
and to appreciate them.
And to be able
to look
even further
of the words.
*This lyric collects ideas that we like to repeat to ourselves, phrases that we sing to remind us of them and keep them in mind.
NOT ENOUGH
On the sidelines,
invisible, you keep your life
in a reality where you don’t fit.
It is not enough to be brave,
I won’t tell you to be brave.
Hold on
and, even though marked by violence,
beats a heart free to be.
It’s not enough to be brave,
I won’t tell you to be brave.
*This letter was born out of a news story. At an awards ceremony, actress Indya Moore wore an accessory (earrings) that included photographs of 17 trans women murdered in the United States in 2019. With this, she wanted to vindicate the fear and punishment that these women suffer for the simple fact of not belonging to a hegemonic category. That made us look further into this actress and we found a poem in which she came to claim ‘the freedom to be’. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-z-31Mq-WXU
‘Not enough’ speaks of our duty not to look the other way in the face of all kinds of dissident people who are mistreated, beaten, killed… simply because they do not fit into the prevailing social imaginary. We felt it was important to stress that we should not expect them to be brave, but to react to all those people, ideas, hate speeches that endanger the lives of those who do not conform to the norm.
STRONG BOX
Life imprisonment
means
little to lose,
everything to gain.
One spoon,
6 months in shifts,
we take advantage of New Year’s Eve
and all six of us are out!
We have to get
to Gaza
but hunger
and thirst kill us.
A breach
in their ‘safe’,
their terrorist ‘safe’.
A breach of hope
for our brothers and sisters
who are imprisoned for fighting
for this land that was ours.
*This song was written after reading a very beautiful and extremely sad article found in the anarchist newspaper Todo por hacer. It is about Palestinian militants sentenced to life imprisonment who on 6 September 2021 managed to escape, (by digging a tunnel with a spoon for 6 months and taking advantage of the Jewish New Year’s Eve), from the Israeli maximum security prison known as ‘the safe’.
“Although the outcome of the escape did not result in a definitive victory (because they all fell back into prison after 10 days), these six Palestinian prisoners managed to put the whole of Israeli intelligence in check for nearly two weeks. They breached psychologically, and literally, the foundations of one of the most secure prisons in the Israeli terrorist state.”

I WISH YOU THE BEST
Maybe my voice
will reach you.
I wish you the best,
may you be able to flow
amidst the chaos
wherever you are.
It will be great
to see you again.
I wish you the best,
may you flow
amidst the chaos
wherever you are.
I wish you the best
with this song.
*There are many loved ones who have left the city and whom we see less than we would like to. Those kilometres do not prevent us from keeping them very much in mind, from continuing to feel things for them and from wanting to let them know about them.
THIRD DEMO
CONNECTION
A light in the background
Always in the same cave
Their backs brush against each other
Despite the darkness
Fear confuses them
Fear drives them away
The blind emptiness
Of normality
They are wary of the norm
Fear of not fitting in
When everything breaks down
Nothing stays the same anymore
When silence arrives
Their gazes meet
An intense explosion
They reconnect
And they will recognise, at last they will be able to think that freedom is worth more
Nothing remains the same after escaping and finding each other again.
One loses her language
The other has none of her own
Ways of being apart
That will cause pain
Sometimes they look at each other
With their eyes closed
They will not be able to know each other
See each other as equals
They are wary of the norm
fear of not fitting in
When everything breaks
Nothing is the same
When silence comes
Their gazes meet
An intense explosion
They reconnect
And they will recognise, at last they will be able to think that freedom is worth more
Nothing is the same after escaping and taking risks
*This song is inspired by a story that can be found on the website of primera vocal (https://primeravocal.org/): ‘Madness and rebellion are bears from the same cave’. With the same clumsiness with which we wrote this, the lyrics are also written, but with all the affection that certain fragments evoke in us. The text speaks of difference, but also of everything that brings us closer. Rebelliousness and madness displaced towards solitude and exclusion, the guardian and executor of this act; the rule that ensures the control that what is imposed is carried out. In some moments the connection illuminates the cave and rest appears, in which we can embrace each other, recognise each other and even cleanse the wounds.

SUNSET
A couple of tuppers
with all the love
we go down to the park
to the sunset.
Those blocks
little people
with worries
and some illusions.
The train
passes through Méndez Álvaro,
the sky is pink,
orange and blue.
We tell each other about the day
what we’re thinking
or how you felt
when something happened.
And we look at the city
from the inside and from the outside
and we dream for a moment…
Night falls
the lights come on
the city does not rest
there is a cycle to complete.
We pick things up
we get up early tomorrow
joy and a certain pride
for the way we live.
Our way of living
our way of living
joy and a certain pride
for our way of living
*We live lives that sometimes have extraordinary moments: confrontation with Power, tension, illusion, fear, euphoria, solidarity, incomprehension…
Sharing a simple and sincere moment can be something wonderful in the middle of this hurricane we live in.
RAY OF LIGHT
Hard to believe,
for unusual,
what would happen.
And it was written
in History
what happened
those days.
Ray of light
at the Royal,
because those doors were opened.
Ray of light
at the Royal,
and they were closed
forever.
It was achieved
what was once only a dream.
Those who fought
were able to reap
the fruits
of their efforts!
Ray of light
at the Royal,
because those doors were opened.
Ray of light
against the Power,
and they were closed
forever.
*This song seeks to celebrate, remember and raise awareness of the struggle that succeeded in closing the Royal Institute in Sao Roque (Sao Paulo, Brazil).
This horrible animal experimentation centre threw in the towel in autumn 2013 thanks to the determination of the people who dreamed of closing it, believed in it and did it.
SECOND DEMO
IT IS HERE
In every gesture that challenges the established,
in every corner where mutual support flourishes.
A whole world of intertwined resistances
raised with the effort of comrades.
If you look you will see it,
if you look you will see it,
if you look you will see it.
You will see it because it is here
breathing with you.
LOVE, FIGHT
There are barriers to stumble over,
you raise your eyes with dignity,
at this point you won’t want to stop.
My mind unveils a need,
sometimes we fall it’s natural,
with all my might I try again.
Love as if I’ve never lost.
Fight like I never won.
Thousands of ideas provoke a reaction,
projects that serve as inspiration,
move us united with an intention.
Clumsy limits make me slow down,
puts creativity on the line,
puts more energy into it and makes us vibrate.
To love as if I’ve never lost.
To fight like I never won.
FIRST DEMO
SEE YOU IN THE PRESENT
I must say
that I love
what we have shared.
Sometimes I also
go back to those corners
that we knew.
But in truth
I prefer that we meet
in the present,
so real,
with our successes
and our shortcomings.
The future,
so uncertain
and so fickle,
hardly appeals to me,
if not to start
to build it from now on.
But in truth
I prefer that we meet
in the present,
so real,
with our successes
and our shortcomings.
OUR WORDS
It can be our language
like an outstretched hand
or, like a blade,
cutting into flesh.
The insubmission there is embodied
in that we will not allow
that some gentlemen in suits
dictate to us how to express ourselves.
We choose our words to describe.
We choose our words to generate.
IN YOUR HANDS
I see your hands, I look at them,
they say so much, you have so much in them.
I hold on to your hands
when I need them.
Your hands that speak louder
than all words,
that make everything but noise,
that serve as my compass,
that remind me of what we are
and what we do here.
They are capable of so much,
of sewing, of tearing, of moulding.
In your hands I see urgency, restlessness,
perseverance and vulnerability…
In your hands I can see the path to freedom.
HEARTS DIE
They create the cages,
we empty them,
the world is like that.
If we create cages our hearts die.
If we create cages, hearts die.
*These lyrics are taken from a line from the film Bold native.
